O Glorious St. Stephen, first of the martyrs, you gave up your life in testimony to the truth of Jesus the Lord, and as you died, you forgave your persecutors and prayed for their good.

Obtain for us, who are dedicated to you, an increase of faith, hope, and love, and the courage of martyrs.                                                                                                                                                  
Share with us your love of the Scriptures, and help us to forgive those who oppress us as you did. In this novena, we ask your blessing on this community, on our pastor, staff, and all our works and ministries.

Inspire vocations from this parish to the priesthood, diaconate, and religious life.  And I especially recommend to your intercession my personal need: (mention in silence).                                                                         
O holy deacon, our patron, lead us to be holy as you were holy so that we too may behold Christ in glory. We pray through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
