Many thanks to everyone who participated in our 2024 Helping Hearts mission. With help from St. Mark's, we will make a happier Christmas for 389 souls. God bless you! !
Helping Hearts
Our Helping Hearts Christmas gift-giving program, from November 9th -December 10, provides items to incapacitated adults and senior citizens ranging in age from 18 - 101.
Remember the Forgotten
For many years we have collaborated with Jewish Family Service to bring holiday cheer to over 1,100 incapacitated adults ranging from 18 to 104. These people have no family or friends to remember them at holiday time. Although this is a Jewish agency, they serve the entire Hampton Roads community and are sensitive to the holiday traditions of all these individuals.
Our Christmas tree will be placed in the Commons from November 9th – December 10th where you can choose your person(s) to help. Please choose one or more tags to help us accomplish our mission of helping almost 400 people. By filling one holiday bag with basic hygiene items toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, lotion, a blanket and other small items, you can make a difference to those who have no one at this special time of year.
You do not have to buy everything on the list. Please do not wrap the gifts. Place them in a Christmas bag along with a holiday card. If you purchase a gift card, put it inside that card. Put the tag you took from the tree inside the bag. Bring the bag back to the Christmas tree in the Commons before December 10th.
Thank you for opening your heart and helping so many who are forgotten at this holiday season.
