A links-style treasure of 18 emerald fairways. Each hole offers a unique examination of one's golf game round after round. The course is comprised of rolling hills, undulating fairways, tiered greens, strategically positioned water hazards and bunkers. Tee to green and shot by shot, these demanding features along with elevation changes of 35 to 40 feet require many extra calculations not seen at any other Hampton Roads area golf course.
Format will be four-player better ball. Each player on the team tees off from the tee box. The team members select the best tee shot of the two, and all golfers then play their second shot from that location. Play is continued in this manner until the hole is completed. After the hole is completed, the team score is recorded and play continues under the same guidelines on the remaining holes.
Each team will be given one pink ball before teeing off on the first hole. Player A plays the entire first hole using the pink ball and Players B, C, and D play their own ball. Player B plays the entire second hole using the pink ball; Player C the third hole, and so on. Play continues in this manner until the pink ball is either lost (in which case, all players finish the round using their own balls) or the round is completed. If only one team completes the round still in possession of their pink ball, that team will receive a prize; if multiple teams are still in possession of their pink ball, the prize will be awarded based on a drawing between those teams.
Price per golfer (includes range balls, green fee, cart, Gatorade, and prizes) is $40.
Each player may purchase up to 5 mulligans at $2 each. Mulligans may be used on tee shots only.
Each team may purchase 1 free throw from a greenside bunker for $5.00. Clarification: “Free” means it does not count as a stroke! Free throw may not be used to win the closest to the pin contest.
Each team may purchase up to 5 feet of string at $2.00 per foot. String is used in lieu of taking a stroke to make a short putt. For example, if you have a 6-inch putt remaining for par, you may cut 6 inches off your string and score a birdie.
We will also hold a 50/50 raffle. Tickets are $1.00 each, or 6 tickets for $5.00. Winner gets half the pot.
Bring your own lunch.
Battlefield Golf Course does not have an ABC license; so, alcohol is not available for sale at the course.
Please be sure to bring cash with you to the golf course. I will pay the golf course for the green fees (golfers do not pay the course directly) and we have no way of accepting credit or debit cards. Small bills (denominations of $20 and smaller) are much preferred. Thank you!
